SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The South Haven Police Department is investigating an incident where a man was shot in the head during a domestic dispute on Sunday, April 23.
Authorities say officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to a report of a gunshot victim being transported to the hospital in a personal car.
The shooting occurred at a residence in the 72000 block of M-43 where the victim, a 60-year-old South Haven male, and the suspect, a 33-year-old female, also of South Haven were involved in a domestic relationship.
The suspect had already fled by the time police arrived.
South Haven Police K9 Ryker and a K9 unit from the Van Buren Sheriff’s Office spent hours tracking the suspect.
The suspect was taken into custody around 6:36 a.m. on Sunday by K9 Ryker and handler Officer VanBrussel.
South Haven Police were assisted by Officers and Dispatchers from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, Bangor Police Department, Covert Police Department along with aerial drone assistance from the Great Lakes Drone Company.
