BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Two new Deputy Police Chiefs are now in place for the Battle Creek Police Department.
Chief Shannon Bagley has named Doug Bagwell as the Deputy Chief for Operations and Stephen Bush as the Deputy Chief for Investigations.
Bagwell has been with the Battle Creek Police Department for over 27 years, with one year of previous law enforcement experience. He has served as a field training officer, patrol sergeant, and lieutenant.
Bush started as a Battle Creek police officer in 1995. He has served as a sergeant, lieutenant, Investigation Bureau lieutenant, and Investigation Bureau major.
Bush has also served in many other roles such as a Field Training Officer and team commander of the Emergency Response Team.
The BCPD command staff also includes:
Lt. Todd Elliott – Inspector / Office of Professional Standards
Lt. Joel Case – Investigations
Lt. Ryan Strunk – Fusion Center and Community Services (COPS officers)
Lt. Jim Martens – night-shift Patrol
A lieutenant yet to be promoted will oversee day-shift Patrol
