STURGIS, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The cause of a Monday night house fire in Sturgis is being investigated by the local fire marshal and the Michigan State Police.
The blaze took place in the 600 block of South Park Street at around 9:25 p.m..
The Sturgis Department of Public Safety reports the first arriving crews saw that the fire had reached the second floor of the home which was empty of all occupants.
Officials say due to the age of the home, the fire was able to spread quickly to the attic.
Firefighters were able to put out the flames in a short time. No injuries were reported.
