The ending of another summer in Michigan always comes with a twinge to
the heart.
Regardless of the season, Michigan has so much to offer. Yet, summer
time in Michigan is something special. It is a time when memories are
made.
Building sandcastles on the beach, sweating it out in tent, sand in shoes,
bon fires, smores and falling asleep at the end of the day exhausted and
happy.
Now is that sweet spot in the year that has ended, and we move on.
Here is what Labor Day Means to Michiganders…
A weekend to close up the Cabin. The last chance to dip your toes in the
water. Winterize the cottage and bid farewell until you meet again in
the spring.
More than half of the traffic restrictions currently in place will be
removed to ease traffic delays for people traveling over Labor Day
weekend.
Take that last ride across the Mackinac bridge before it becomes too icy
to grab that last tin of fudge you will save for Christmas.
Clean out the boats – only what you need for the next two weeks is left
in. Otherwise, bye! Into garage or storage, it all heads.
Air out the tents, and make sure they are dry before being rolled up. No
one wants to discover a molded tent next Spring.
Visit Binder Park Zoo, to tell the animals to rest well and you will see
them next year.
Find all keys…bike locks, boat locks, boat engine keys, storage shelter
keys, cabin keys, shed keys, etc., etc.,
Wash the sleeping bags…(nuff, said, by the end of the summer those
bags are gross)!
And enjoy that last family summer photo taken to remember this time
for years come.
Good-bye to another fantastic summer in Michigan!
