Rule Number 1
When first in line at a red light, you have one job. That job is to stay completely focused on the light so that the second it changes, you start to move forward.
That is not the time to check your phone, put on lipstick (or heavens to Marky Kay, you put on mascara) or any other thing that would distract you from paying full attention to the light. You have one job…
Rule Number 2
This one is pretty simple: the speed limit is not a suggestion.
So, speeding around someone while using inappropriate sign language is just not cool.
Don’t be that person…
Rule Number 3
Remember, just because your sports car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 15 seconds, not all of us own vehicles with that luxury.
So, if a Jeep or an older car isn’t turning out into traffic fast enough because they know their pick-up time is slow, please be kind.
Whaling on the horn is NOT helpful. I have never found my Jeep to pick up speed faster with you and your car screaming at me.
Rule Number 4
If you can’t see out the back window…DON’T BACK UP!
Rule Number 5
Working in downtown Battle Creek, I have witnessed pedestrians following the crossing lights and, as soon as they are two steps out of the way (but hardly across the street), a car screams around them.
And a bonus rule…blinkers are there for a reason! Use them, it will lessen the chance of me hitting you!
P.S. Walkers in Downtown B.C. have the right of way.
Those are my rules of the road! Drive safe and I will see you on the road.
