Lost and Found
Over the weekend I finally started to take down my Christmas decorations. It was a task I dreaded! I love the lights, the wraths, trees and even the scrapes of wrapping paper you find on the floor a week after the holiday. This year turned out to a little different though.
To understand, please let me explain.
Since I have moved 3 times over the last 3 years, many things have remanded in boxes and many things that I could not locate, I ranked up to lost in transit.
But this weekend was different, my home turned somethings like an elementary school ‘Lost and Found Box’.
Things I found…
My ski goggles.
That was cool find, not that I have taken to the hills in the past few years, but good to know I’ve got them.
A terrier figurine whose name is Timmy.
Why one might ask, why would you have something like that? And why are you sad that it was gone? Well, my grandmother had a terrier that looked exactly like this glass dog. But that’s not the whole reason why it was important to me. Timmy was blind and anything he bumped into he bit. Every time it happened, someone would scream ‘TIMMY’. Timmy has been gone for decades, but my father and I always joked about it. If we would be frustrated, we would yell “TIMMY”. So, the little dog worth about .50 cents, is a million dollars’ worth of memories for me!
Awesome find. I even teared up a tad.
My silver medium hooped earring!
So happy!!! Sometimes a baseball cap needs that little girlie touch!
My Easter Basket. Yea, I asked myself the same question…’why do I have this thing?’. Seriously, it should be in my Smother’s basement.
And the kicker of a find was, (you will understand the word play in just a moment) …
My one lost black penny loafer…
Yes, over the weekend I found my one lone, long-lost penny loafer inside, (yes inside), my light brown Ughs.
Come on! How and why? I cannot answer that.
I loved and missed those shoes so much that in late fall that I got a replacement pair. I waited over a year to ding that one shoe and to be honest I was losing my mind. Where could it be? Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would find it in a boot.
CRAZY!
I suppose the bright spot this find is that I never tossed the lone shoe, so now I have 2 pair.
If I am being honest, I am invigorated not! Looking forward to next weekend to find more treasures!
Wish me happy hunting~
