BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A pair of Bronson area cancer patients were given encouragement in their fight against the disease by numerous fire and police personnel on Sunday thanks to the non-profit organization Shields of Hope.
Joe Troyer of Bronson and Breana Dules of Burr Oak were told they were not alone in the fight.
After meeting at the Bronson Fire Station, firefighters from nearly eight departments in Michigan and Indiana as well as representatives from the Michigan State Police, Bronson Police, the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Life Care Ambulance went over to Troyer’s house.
They then surprised Dules at the nearby Congregational Church in Bronson where she thought she was celebrating a last minute surprise birthday party for her father.
Shields of Hope is based in Zeeland and is run by local Public Safety professionals.
