QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – There will be a different head coach for Quincy High School’s wrestling program this winter. Cecil Tuttle says he has been relieved of his duties as wrestling coach after he was told by school administrators last Friday that he had violated the district’s social media policy.
According to Tuttle, school administrators disapproved of what they felt was an inappropriate comment he made on a friend’s Facebook page just over a week ago.
Quincy Superintendent Marc Kramer said Tuttle’s actions were not compatible with their Board of Education’s philosophy.
The opening for the varsity wrestling coaching position was posted by the district last Friday. The wrestling team’s first meet is scheduled for December eighth.
Tuttle says he has future plans to coach wrestling but he could not reveal them at this time.
He had been the Quincy wrestling coach for three season. Tuttle was named the Big 8 Conference Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2017.
