BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man who was shot after he got into an altercation with a man and his brother at a gas station earlier yesterday, has been admitted to Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo in serious condition.
The 34 year old victim and his girlfriend had exchanged angry words with the two siblings, and then left the station on East Columbia and returned home to the Post Addition late yesterday afternoon.
Police say the other two apparently followed them to their home on East Kingman.
Tires were slashed and more angry words were exchanged. Sometime soon after a gun was pulled and the victim was shot in the lower abdomen.
Police have one of the two brothers in custody, but the other remains at large. They surrounded the home of the other brother last evening but discovered he was not there.
They believe he is the man who pulled the trigger.
