BRYAN, OH (WTVB) – A man serving prison time for a 2016 armed robbery of a bank in Branch County was found guilty this week in Williams County, Ohio in connection with three holdups in Ohio that were part of more than a dozen robberies in the tristate area, including four in Branch County.
35-year old John T. Morgan of Burr Oak Wednesday entered a no contest plea while being found guilty on three counts of aggravated robbery. Three other counts that he was facing on trial in his trial that started Monday were dismissed, while the plea agreement contained the condition of a maximum 12-year prison term.
Morgan last year was sentenced to six to 25 years for the March 2016 armed robbery of the Quincy branch office of Century Bank and Trust. He will do time in Ohio for this week’s case in Williams County after his expected release from the Michigan Department of Corrections in 2022.
Morgan’s six month crime spree in late 2015 thru the winter of 2016 included gas station heists in Coldwater, Quincy, and Bronson. His accomplice in the Century Bank robbery, 31-year old Nickole Collins, also of Burr Oak, is behind state prison bars for that holdup.
