KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety has released surveillance photos from a robbery at an Advia Credit Union hoping someone will recognize the thief who has not yet been captured.
They say the African-American male in his 20’s walked into the branch in the 700 block of north Westnedge Saturday at 10:16 am, jumped up onto the counter, threw a black bag down and demanded the teller fill it with cash.
A gun was not seen but he was holding his arm out like he had one. He grabbed a few dollars from the countertop and fled on foot.
A K-9 track followed a path up Elizabeth Street that evaporated.
The suspect was wearing a black hoodie, blue rubber gloves, blue pants and brown boots.
There were no injuries.
Public Safety is working with the FBI to try and identify the suspect.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-488-9111, or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
