NOBLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the use of a cell phone was a factor in a crash which injured a man from LaGrange, Indiana on Monday morning.
They say the crash on Bawden Road north of Whipple Road in Noble Township happened at about 9:20 a.m..
When Sheriff Deputies arrived, they found a pickup truck had hit a large cement property marker and the driver had lacerations and head injuries.
Deputies report 38-year-old Michael Jordon was traveling north on Bawden Road when he veered to the opposite side.
He then wennt off the road and struck a large cement property pillar.
Jordan told deputies he was on his cell phone “arguing” with someone.
He suffered facial lacerations and a head injury. Jordan was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Life Care Ambulance and Bronson Fire Department rescue.
