ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – Detroit Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah was back on the practice field yesterday after missing the last three weeks with an injury. Ansah had been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury against Tennessee in Week Two.
Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata injured his shoulder in the second half of last weekend’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles and could be out of the lineup this Sunday when Detroit hosts the L.A. Rams. In five games this season, Ngata has eight tackles, one-and-a-half sacks and has knocked down a pass.
Lions cornerback Darius Slay has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Sunday’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Slay forced a fumble and intercepted a pass within the final three minutes of the game to help seal the victory for Detroit. He also had three tackles and two pass defenses against the Eagles.
The Chicago Bears are back to work preparing for Sunday’s home game against the Jaguars. Quarterback Jay Cutler did not practice yesterday as he continues to deal with a thumb injury. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was limited with a hamstring injury.
