UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — ESPN journalist and former Western Michigan University hockey player John Saunders is dead.
He joined ESPN in 1986 after television stints in Canada and Baltimore and was a frequent fixture on the network’s studio shows.
Saunders played in one game during his stint with the Broncos from 1974 to 1976. He played with his brother, Bernie Saunders, who made a couple of brief NHL appearances with the Quebec Nordiques.
Saunders was 61.
