JACKSON, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Consumers Energy says their crews have restored power to most of the over 80,000 Michigan homes and businesses affected by this week’s storms.
As of 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning, just over 4,500 customers system wide were without power including 224 in Kalamazoo County and another 320 in Calhoun County.
More than 1,100 Consumers Energy coworkers and contractors along with crews from Ohio, Indiana and Alabama have been working on getting the power back for customers since storms first moved through Michigan on Tuesday.
Consumers Energy expects power will be restored to most remaining homes and businesses Thursday, although some areas with severe damage may be restored Friday.

Residents are still being urged to stay at least 25 feet away from downed power lines, keep children and pets away, and report the issue by calling 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050. Consumers Energy also asks the public to keep a safe distance from crews.
