KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation into a two-vehicle accident Friday that killed one person.
Deputies were called to an accident scene on N Sprinkle Rd near East H Ave at around 10:35 pm, and found that two vehicles had struck each other head on.
Further investigation discovered that the southbound vehicle had crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and hit a northbound vehicle.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the northbound vehicle, a 24 year old Kalamazoo resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial findings indicate that alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
