KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were kept busy with two assault incidents about 30 minutes apart Tuesday evening.
Around 7:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to a female stabbed in the 100 block of East Bush Street. Officers arrived and found a 30-year-old Kalamazoo resident on the ground with multiple wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment where they are listed in stable condition.
The suspect in the stabbing was located and taken into custody without incident in less than seven minutes. The 36-year-old Kalamazoo resident is lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting arraignment.
Around 7:45 p.m. KDPS was dispatched to a report of a felonious assault in the 1000 block of Interfaith Blvd. When officers arrived they found a 31-year-old Kalamazoo resident who had been assaulted.
The suspect in the assault was located and taken into custody without incident. The handgun used in the assault was also recovered.
The 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident is lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail awaiting arraignment.
