TOLEDO, OH (WKZO AM/FM) – The Western Michigan women’s tennis team fell at Toledo, 6-1, at Twos Athletic Club Sunday afternoon.
The Rockets took the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 3. Sloane Tesky and Chrissy Fuller opened up the match defeating WMU’s Kaitlyn Rogosch and Kristina Tiraspolsky 6-3 at No. 3. The Broncos (10-7, 2-3 MAC) tied it up with a win at No. 2 by Lindsey Zieglar and Karin Hamilton, 6-4, over Laura Morera and Patricia Panta. Alcala and Julia Kuszanyski sealed the doubles point for Toledo with a 7-5 win at No. 1 over Femke Tjon-A-Joe and Ana Guadiana.
Hamilton earned Western Michigan’s lone point with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 3 over Kuszynski. The Broncos pushed all five of the other singles matches to three sets, but fell short.
Western Michigan heads on the road to take on Buffalo Friday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. before returning home to host Northern Illinois Sunday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m.
