KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that vehicle speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a fatal crash that happened on Memorial Day Monday, May 30, at around 7:15 a.m. on 9th Street in Kalamazoo.
25-year-old Jerry Tyson of Kalamazoo died as a result of the two-vehicle accident that closed off the road from North Avenue to Stadium Drive for nearly two hours.
Multiple agencies responded to the accident at the intersection of Tall Oaks Drive to include Oshtemo Fire and Rescue, Life EMS along with the Michigan State Police.
Tyson was pronounced dead at the scene.
