MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Juvenile Home will now be named the Calhoun County Youth Center and will adopt a new logo that depicts a phoenix.
This change was approved by the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners during their meeting on Thursday and is tied to a re-imagining of the facility.
According to a statement released by Calhoun County Government, the new name and logo are aligned with beliefs foundational to how the county department has functioned and will continue to operate.
Its mission recognized that all youth make mistakes, and every young person deserves respect and is a worthwhile human being.
Changes in building signage and throughout the community will take some time.
This change does not affect any of the ongoing programming and treatment plans for youths at the Youth Center.
