EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (WKZO-AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions are headed back to the Meadowlands to face off with the New York Jets on Sunday. The Lions are hoping for the same outcome as their Week 11 win over the Giants in East Rutherford.
Detroit has won five of its last six overall including a 34-23 victory over the NFC North-leading Vikings last weekend. After starting the year 1-and-6, the Lions now find themselves just outside of the NFC playoff picture at 6-and-7.
The Jets are in the thick of the AFC postseason race despite losing three of their last four games. New York fell short in Buffalo 20-12 last weekend to dip to 7-and-6 on the season. The Jets are currently tied with the Patriots and Chargers for the final AFC Wild Card spot, but New England currently holds the tiebreaker over both New York and L.A.
