BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, owners of FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, announced contributions of just over $20 million to the State of Michigan and $6.1 million the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board on Wednesday.
For the second consecutive year, combined contributions exceed $26 million and lifetime combined contributions have gone over $287 million.
The FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board distribute the funds they receive to local entities.
This year’s strong performance came about despite a tight labor market and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The check presented to the FLRSB is the thirteenth distribution since the first distribution in February 2010.
Over $72 million has been distributed to date which benefits a diverse array of groups.
