RUTLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Barry County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a Hastings man who died in a two-vehicle crash on Monday, May 1.
Authorities say 41-year-old John Lewis Fisk was killed around 10:20 a.m. in Rutland Township when he was heading north on M-37 near Rork Road and attempted to make a U Turn.
Fisk pulled onto the shoulder and then turned left into the path of another northbound motorist who struck him on the drivers side. The crash sent both vehicles into the ditch.
Despite lifesaving efforts, Fisk was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that struck him, a 48-year-old female from Middleville was treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital.
