BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Siyun Liu won the FireKeepers Casino women’s golf tournament by one shot on Sunday at the Battle Creek Country Club.
She fired a 69 in Sunday’s rainy weather and used a 17th hole birdie to edge Amelia Garvey to win her first Epson Tour event at ten under par.
Liu started the day in a four-way tie for the lead at -7 with Garvey, Lindsey McCurdy, and Min-G Kim.
By the time Liu walked off the fifth hole, she was in the solo lead and held that lead until late in the round.
The 23-year-old birdied the tenth and moved her lead to two shots. A bogey on the 13th allowed Garvey to tie her.
After snapping the tie with her birdie on the 17th, Liu parred the difficult finishing hole to close out the win.
