KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — The suspect in the shooting death of Jason Lee Vanostran has been formally charged with the crime.
Vanostran was found dead in an east side trailer park at the home of brother-in-law Timothy Joe Salo in April of last year.
They had been looking at Salo for the crime ever since. The State Police fugitive team found him living in Lansing and took him into custody Monday.
Court documents claim there was a third person in the trailer, and that they heard them talking and heard the gunshot that killed Vanostran, but Salo claimed it was self-inflicted.
He has been charged with open murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond.
