COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – February was another positive month on the books at CHC as the Community Health Center of Branch County’s turnaround plan is showing progress. Net income at the hospital for the month was $53,000 when the budget drawn up for 2015 pointed to a projected loss in February of at least 3 times that amount. And the CHC Board of Trustees heard Monday night that year to date, the profit is nearly $200,000 or nearly a half-a-million dollars ahead of budget.
Much of the black ink is driven by operating expenses so far this year being down by four percent. The Community Health Center hopes to have at least a break-even year after a net income loss of $3 million in 2014 and $4.6 million in 2013.
