DECATUR (WKZO) — A young man is facing a list of charges after Van Buren County Deputies say he got drunk, violated a conditional bond that prohibited drinking alcohol, and crashed his car into a home late Saturday night.
Deputies say he was driving a 1997 Cadillac with three teens on board from the Decatur area when he lost control at ParKhurst and M-51 went off the road and into a yard, and buried the left front fender of the car into the home.
The driver and two of the teens fled. The 22-year-old driver was found by a K-9 hiding under a tarp in a nearby shed.
He was treated for minor injuries, and then booked at the Van Buren County jail for driving drunk, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, illegal entry, driving drunk with a minor on board and violating bond.
A 17-year-old was arrested for possession of alcohol by consumption.
The other two, a 13 and a 16-year-old were turned over to their parents.
