KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM)– Road barriers are in place at South Burdick Street and Belmont Avenue and a boil water alert has been issued after a water main break at the intersection.
Health officials say you should either boil it or buy it before you drink it for the next few days, just as a precaution, because they won’t know if the breach in the water main introduced contaminants to the water until test results come back. The results could come back as early as Friday.
The area impacted is between Maple, Burdick, Alcott and Park.
It will take a few days for the main to be fixed and the street repaired. The intersection will remain closed through the weekend.
