BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A running stove is being blamed for an accidental fire that caused $10,000 damage to a three-story senior apartment building in Battle Creek.
Firefighters found smoke and running sprinklers when they arrived at the structure on the North Pointe Woods property along North Avenue before 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Residents sheltered in place and were unharmed, according to a press release.
The affected unit suffered smoke damage. A large portion of the building suffered water damage.
