WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say the heavy rain on Wednesday night led to an accident in St. Joseph County which caused two persons to suffer minor injuries.
Troopers say it was raining heavily at about 8:00 p.m. when the accident took place on U.S. 12 near Oak Road.
They say 21-year-old Christopher Sawyer of Three Rivers was slowing down for a vehicle turning in front of him when he was rear ended by 28-year-old Jessie Claus of Sturgis.
Neither driver went to the hospital. Clauss was given misdemeanor tickets for not having a drivers’ license or insurance as well as driving too fast for conditions.
