LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A $75.8-billion Fiscal Year 2027 budget has been passed by the Michigan House.
Appropriations Committee chair Ann Bollin says majority Republicans feel the budget is solid, doesn’t raise taxes and priorities services people rely on.
The Democratic majority state Senate is still moving forward on its Fiscal Year 2027 budget, and a conference committee will meet once that passes to iron out differences between the two along with Governor Whitmer’s budget proposal.
State House Speaker Matt Hall says they were able to cut two-billion-dollars in state spending without making any cuts other than to eliminate “ghost employees.”
