Texas Rangers outfielder Brandon Nimmo is day-to-day with a sprained left ankle, manager Skip Schumaker told reporters after Nimmo exited Tuesday’s 7-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in Arlington, Texas.
Nimmo left in the sixth inning when he stepped on Ildemaro Vargas’ foot at first when trying to leg out an infield single. He was limping after the play and was removed after initially remaining in the game.
X-rays were negative, per Schumaker.
Nimmo, 33, finished the game 3-for-4 with a triple and a run. He’s hitting .288 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 40 games this season after he was acquired in a trade from the New York Mets last November.
