PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The 16-year-old boy who drowned in Gun Lake last week has been identified as Kaden Smith.
Smith was a student at Portage Northern High School and drowned last Wednesday.
His body was recovered Friday.
Smith was about to enter his junior year and played clarinet in the symphonic and jazz bands at Portage Northern.
His family has launched a GoFundMe to pay for his funeral and start a memorial scholarship.
Over $18,000 have been raised so far.
