MARSHALL, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As part of the Marshall Modernization Project, the Michigan Department of Transportation is opening the M-96 bridge over I-94 in calhoun County’s Emmett Township this Thursday.
But on the same day, the M-311 (11 Mile Road) bridge over I-94 will be closing for approximately six weeks while crews rebuild the M-311 intersection with Wheatfield Avenue and the westbound I-94 ramp.
All I-94 ramps will remain open and in use, but traffic exiting westbound I-94 will use Wheatfield Avenue to Michigan Avenue. Traffic exiting eastbound I-94 will use Michigan Avenue and Wheatfield Avenue to access 11 Mile Road.
MDOT says the Michigan Avenue entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed daily from this Friday, September 18 through Monday, September 21 while crews are paving westbound I-94 and the ramp. During the closures, there will be a detour on westbound Michigan Avenue and southbound I-194.
