Nov 02 (Field Level Media) – Venus Williams lost her 17th consecutive singles match Monday at the Hong Kong Tennis Open, falling 6-2, 6-3 in the first round to fellow American Mary Stoiana in 77 minutes.

“I haven’t made any plans for next year, but I didn’t make plans this year either,” said Williams, who turned pro in 1994. “I just took it one step at a time. We’ll see.”
