PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage detectives believe that two men came gunning for someone who lived in a home in the 2600 block of Woodbine and hoped to lure them to the front door when they knocked at 1:15 Thursday morning.
When 69-year-old Marilyn Stamp looked out her bedroom adjacent to the front door, they opened fire, hitting her three times.
She is expected to recover.
Police believe they may have been looking for her son, Jody Stamp who is currently on parole. The suspects were last seen fleeing in a car down Woodlawn Drive.
Detectives plan to question the son, who was arrested Thursday for cutting off his tether.
He is not a suspect in the shooting. He was elsewhere in the home when the shooting occurred.
