PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek woman is behind bars after robbing an elderly man in his motel room in Pennfield Township.
Calhoun County Sheriff deputies say the incident occurred around 7 p.m. Wednesday at a motel in the 20,000 block of Capital Avenue when the woman broke into the 88-year-old victim’s room, tied him up, assaulted him, and fled with his cash and debit cards.
Authorities later spotted the getaway vehicle and the 56-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was arrested.
She is currently in the Calhoun County Jail, but the incident is still under investigation.
