BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — Two Battle Creek men have been formally charged with attempted murder and five other felonies for a drive-by shooting at a home that contained a family with five children.
Jarviz Brown and Davon West allegedly intended to shoot Anthony Bacon because of a long simmering feud between the individuals. Police say one of them opened fire from his car seat and the other by popping up through a sunroof.
His sister, 27-year-old Latesha Bills was shot in the back and may be paralyzed from the waist down. Bacon grabbed a gun and returned fire, but it was allegedly a stolen gun and he is a felon and isn’t allowed to touch guns. He has also has been arrested.
Brown and West are being held on $150,000 bond each and could get anything up to life if convicted.
