BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Battle Creek has created a dedicated webpage with all the information from a recent contamination scare.
Health officials issued emergency advisories on city water after a couple of regular tests showed abnormally high levels of Manganese in the system.
A battery of tests was immediately ordered to verify and quantify the problem and after a few days and an analysis of the results, the emergency was lifted.
It was determined the contaminant was coming from a couple of wells that have since been sealed, pending instructions from the State Department of Environmental Quality.
Water customers, and others who are interested, can find this information here.
