KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) -It appears the problems caused by former Loy Norrix Principal Rodney Prewitt are over for Kalamazoo Public Schools.
Its been announced that the district has settled a lawsuit brought by a female employee based on sexual harassment allegations.
Prewitt was suspended and eventually resigned after it was discovered he failed to disclose that he had once had similar allegations leveled against him in Florida that led to a temporary suspension of his teaching license years ago.
The District has since tightened up its hiring practices for out-of-state applicants, requiring more complete background checks, that go beyond the usual practices of Human Resource departments.
The district says the lawsuit settlement was amicable and the parties involved have agreed not to disclose the details.
