BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The name of the Union City woman who was killed Friday morning in a crash in Calhoun County’s Burlington Township has been released.
66-year-old Deborah Mansfield was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which took place near the intersection of 8 Mile Road and U Drive South.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says a van driven by a 33-year-old man from Battle Creek was in a curve when he swerved to avoid the animal. His vehicle then went into the opposite lane of traffic and collided head on with the vehicle being driven by Mansfield.
Deputies did not release the name of the man. He was taken to Bronson Battle Creek for treatment of his injuries.
Funeral arrangements for Deborah Mansfield are being handled by the Brown Funeral Home in Niles.
