BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit acting on something they allegedly intercepted has raided the home of a member of the Battle Creek Board of Education, looking for child pornography.
The raid took place on Tuesday.
Since then, 54-year-old Trustee Eric Jankowski has resigned from the school board, citing personal reasons.
State Police Det. Gerald Yott says they intercepted something on line, did some investigation, got a warrant and went into his home on N. 32nd Street in Springfield, with authority to seize computers, hard drives, photos, videos and any other material that might be related to their investigation of child sexually abusive material.
They aren’t saying what they found. No charges have been filed, the investigation is ongoing.
