BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — Three teens from Portage have been stung by Battle Creek Police. Two expensive electric scooters that were reported stolen from the Meijer in Battle Creek were spotted for sale on Facebook by the Department’s Fusion Center.
Officers posing as buyers contacted the advertisers and agreed to meet them in a local business parking lot. When two 19-year-old’s and a 17-year-old from Portage appeared with the scooters, they were busted.
Inside the car they found merchandise taken from other area stores. They also found marijuana and heroin in the car. The trio will face a variety of theft and drug charges.
