BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A routine traffic stop of a couple in their 50’s escalated into something more serious when officers found drugs and a loaded gun inside the vehicle in Battle Creek early Sunday morning.
The press release doesn’t say why the officers pulled the couple over, or what prompted their decision to search the vehicle after they stopped it on Grove Street at about 2 am.
They found that both the 51-year-old driver and the 53-year-old passenger had methamphetamine in their possession.
They found the gun inside the vehicle.
Both were booked into the Calhoun County Corrections Facility on gun and drug counts.
