BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — The renovation of the Heritage Tower in Battle Creek has already disrupted traffic downtown and it’s about to get worse.
The Contractor has determined that they are going to have to close West Michigan Avenue completely to make room for scaffolding and cranes to get materials to the upper stories of the 19-story building.
The City of Battle Creek has issued a press release saying that will begin on Thursday and the street won’t reopen until sometime next spring.
Pedestrians will still be able to use the sidewalk on the northside of Michigan. They will detour traffic down Van Buren.
