TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning in an accident on southbound I-69 near the 28 mile marker.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. when the driver of the motorcycle apparently drove off the road and into the grass where he lost control.
The driver, who was identified as a 62-year-old man from Durand, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Michigan State Police, Tekonsha firefighters, Marshall Ambulance and the Calhoun County Road Commission assisted deputies.
