LANSING, MI (WTVB) – There are still no bargaining sessions scheduled between the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association and the union the consortium locked out, but Governor Snyder’s office is reporting that progress is being made.
The lockout has brought r road construction work around Michigan to a grinding halt.
The Governor’s office has been meeting with each side in an effort to end the lockout which began over two weeks ago.
Officials say that while a new contract is not being negotiated, they are trying to figure out how to get the road construction work going again.
The old contract between the union that handles all the heavy equipment on road projects and the group representing construction companies expired in June.
