BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Battle Creek Police arrested a 26-year-old Coldwater woman Tuesday morning for being in possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the woman was arrested after a traffic stop for an inoperable brake light on I-94.
A 34-year-old man from Coldwater was driving the car which was owned by the female passenger. He was later released.
Police report they found a plastic bag of fentanyl along with scales and some marijuana.
The woman’s name was not released.
