EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Wednesday was National Letter of Intent Day around the country, with high school prospects finalizing their choice of which college they will play for. Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said he thinks the Spartans have a fantastic 2015 recruiting class, one of the best ever at MSU.
At Michigan, new coach Jim Harbaugh got a late start but most of the recruiting experts believe he did a good job with the time he had to work with and Harbaugh said they’re very pleased with the class coming into Ann Arbor.
Noted prospect site Rivals.com is declaring USC as the winner in high school football recruiting this year, unseating Alabama’s four-year run as tops in the nation. Florida State ranks third, followed by Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and national champion Ohio State. Rivals had Michigan State at number-22 with Michigan at 49th in the country.
And once again, Western Michigan University coach P.J. Fleck scored the highest rating in the MAC, and the 77th ranked class nationwide.
