KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Friends and neighbors of Jason Dalton say they were surprised when the 45-year-old Uber driver was arrested for six killings in the Kalamazoo area on Saturday.
Gary Pardo Jr. says he knew Dalton had problems with some of the people who lived at the apartment complex nearby, but never believed he was capable of mass murder.
“That guy was pretty normal,” Pardo said. “There were a few nights where it seemed like there was some rage going on over there, but that was six months or a year ago.”
Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief Jeff Hadley said they have questioned Dalton about the crimes, but haven’t been given many answers.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller isn’t offering any details, but says the wife and two children of the suspect are fine. There had been some concerns because they had not been seen since Thursday.
Dalton will be arraigned Monday.
